I, together with my classmates, went to a convention on May 1, and I decided to use it as an opportunity to practice my photography and do my homework to have a unique theme for our task.
A big thanks to my classmate for documenting our day too and lending me his camera that day to do my homework. Make sure to slide the pictures to see more or tap it to see the whole picture.
Camera Shots
Extreme Wide Shot
Here I captured the crowd at the convention to give that distant and overwhelming vibe because I needed to emphasize the location.
Wide Shot
In this shot, I used my classmate Kristiana to model this camera shot to get a better idea of the scene setting (which is the crowd/convention).
Full Shot
I asked my classmate Marcus here to model for this type of camera shot in which his entire body reaches from the top of the frame to the bottom of the frame.
Medium Wide Shot
In this shot, it frames the subject (Kristiana) from roughly the knees up.
Cowboy Shot
Now for this shot, Julienne modeled for me, which frames her from roughly mid-thighs up.
Medium Shot
This is the most common of the various shots, which it frames from the waist up and through the torso. So it emphasizes Kristiana and Julienne more while keeping their surroundings more visible.
Medium Close Up Shot
This shot frames my subject from roughly the chest up, so I asked Czylyn to pose like this because this shot typically favors the face while still keeping the subject somewhat eerily distant, to where the focus is on Czylyn looking at her phone.
Close Up Shot
Well, you know how this goes. This shot allows me to show my subjects' emotions or what they're doing that can't be seen from other various shots, so here, you can see Julienne here looking at the bottles in a more distinct matter.
Extreme Close Up Shot
In these shots, smaller objects get great detail and are the focal point. In my case, I'm giving Marcus' eyes emphasis.
Camera Angles
Low Angle Shot
Unlike my close-up shot earlier, this shot frames Julienne from below her eyeline and we can see her actions from a new perspective.
High Angle Shot
The camera points down at Marcus, where it creates a different vibe from the other shots, and it also expresses his action widely in a different perspective.
